Hamzeh Savari Laftah is an Ahwazi Arab political prisoner in Iran who has been incarcerated since 2005, when he was 16 years old. He comes from an Arab-majority region of Khuzestan Province (Ahwaz) in southwestern Iran, where ethnic Arabs have long faced discrimination and repression.
